Temple I - North 16th Street Project Nears Completion
Monday, November 01, 2010
1260's Temple I project is nearing completion, and many residents will be settled back into their homes before the holidays! In fact, 15 of the units will be ready for occupancy just after Thanksgiving, with the balance of the units expected to be ready for leasing during the months of December and January.
Residents returning to their units will enjoy the gorgeous new hardwood floors, updated kitchens, additional windows to increase day-lighting, as well as a number of energy-efficient improvements such as extra insulation, low-flow plumbing fixtures, Energy-Star Low E argon filled replacement windows, and a white roof system to reduce heat island effect.
Designed to qualify for LEED® certification, the historic rehabilitation of these 22 town homes will preserve a total of 58 units of affordable family housing in North Philadelphia.
Just around the corner from these units, construction will soon be underway at 1260's Temple II project, which will preserve another 40 units of affordable family housing on the 1500 block of North Gratz Street.Labels: historic, LEED, preservation, rehabilitation, Temple I
